Fire crews battling small wildfire south of Rockerville

ROCKERVILLE, S.D. – Fire crews were battling a small wildfire south of Rockerville Wednesday afternoon.

Great Plains Fire Dispatch reports the Silver Mountain Fire was reported around 11:30 a.m. about 2 miles south and west of Rockerville in Pennington County. It was located in the area between Silver Mountain Rd and HWY 16,

The fire was estimated to be around 20 acres as of early Wednesday afternoon.

The fire is burning on both private and state-owned land with Federal, State and local resources battling the blaze.
