Rapid City, S.D. — Black Hills Advocate is currently accepting donations for the 2025 Elder Tree through December 7. Modeled after an Angel Tree program, the Elder Angel Tree initiative provides an opportunity to give back during the holiday season by focusing on the needs of local senior citizens. Each year, Black Hills Advocate delivers gifts to hundreds of homebound seniors. For some recipients, the Elder Angel Tree present may be the only gift they receive during the holiday season.

Gift lists for the Elder Angel Tree can be found at several participating locations, including the Medical Arts Clinic (717 St. Francis Street), Black Hills Community Bank (840 Mt. Rushmore Road), HomeSlice Media (333 West Boulevard), Black Hills Advocate (318 Mt. Rushmore Road), and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Rapid City Ward (2822 Canyon Lake Road).

In addition to physical gifts, Black Hills Advocate is also accepting monetary donations to support the Elder Angel Tree program. According to a recent social media post, “Venmo us & we shop & deliver for you! Even $5 makes a huge difference.”
