RAPID CITY, SD — Local youth can learn the basics of gardening with an upcoming ‘Bloom With Us’ event hosted by the Rapid City Parks and Recreation Department.
The event is open to youth 5-13 years old and will be held Saturday, April 11 from 8-10 a.m. at the Parks Greenhouse, 2915 Canyon Lake Drive. Event fee is $10.
Each participating child will receive a terracotta pot and choose two flowers to pot and take home. Youth will learn about Celosia, Marigold and Snapdragon flowers as part of the event.
“This hands-on class is perfect for young gardeners who love to learn, explore and get a little messy,” said City Recreation Specialist Lindsey Myers. “It’s a bright and cheerful way to grow curiosity one flower at a time!”
