RAPID CITY, S.D. — Anna Bossman of Moorcroft, Wyoming, is serving as the 2026 Miss Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo, representing one of the region’s premier western events throughout the coming year.

Bossman was crowned during competition held in conjunction with the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo at The Monument in Rapid City. She will hold the title until the next contest in January 2027, when she passes the crown to her successor.

“It’s really fun,” Bossman said. “I have a lot of fun at the contest. It’s really cool.”

Bossman brings prior pageant experience to the role, having previously earned the title of Miss Black Hills Roundup in 2022. She said the competitions are demanding and highly competitive, requiring contestants to demonstrate horsemanship, public speaking and knowledge of the western industry.

A recent graduate of Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Bossman spent four years competing on the school’s equestrian team. Her background includes hunter-jumper events as well as ranch horse competition, where she showed cow horses.

Looking ahead, Bossman plans to continue advancing through the rodeo queen ranks. In 2027, she intends to compete for the title of Miss Rodeo Wyoming, with hopes of eventually qualifying for Miss Rodeo America, which is decided during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

“If after you win your state pageant, then you’ll run for Miss Rodeo America at the NFR in December,” Bossman said.

During the Stock Show week, Bossman said she will be attending events across the grounds, including time at The Monument and the trade show, as well as appearances at other Stock Show activities.
