RAPID CITY, S.D. – Jeremy Taylor, facing felony charges in two states, made his initial appearance in Pennington County court Thursday, where a judge set his bond at $500,000 cash.

Jeremy Taylor appeared before a judge to face charges of first-degree eluding and simple assault against law enforcement officers. The charges stem from a recent incident in Rapid City that led to a pursuit and a physical confrontation with responding officers.

A massive search involving air assets and ground teams took place in the Black Hills between January 30th and February 4th for Jeremy as local law enforcement agencies tracked a fugitive described as armed and dangerous. Jeremy was taken into custody on Wednesday, February 4th in Fall River County.

Following the resolution of his criminal cases in South Dakota, Taylor is scheduled to be extradited to Ohio. Authorities in that state have issued warrants for his arrest on charges of gross sexual imposition.

Under South Dakota law, the next step in the judicial process for Taylor will be a preliminary hearing to determine if there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial, unless a grand jury issues a formal indictment before that date.

Taylor remains in custody at the Pennington County Jail.
