RAPID CITY – A local talent has taken the national stage as Rapid City artist Bijou Belle secured a spot on NBC’s “The Voice” during the blind auditions Monday night.

The 17-year-old singer-songwriter, known in the Black Hills for her work with the family band The RathCo, performed a rendition of “Wildflower” by Billie Eilish. Her performance caught the attention of original coach Adam Levine, who returned to the show this season for the “Battle of Champions” format.

Belle was selected to join Team Adam, marking a significant milestone for the Rapid City music scene. Levine, who has three previous wins on the series, praised the young artist’s unique style.

“I am very, very passionate about being a part of that as well,” Levine said during the episode while discussing the growth of younger artists. “I just think you are super special.”

The current season of “The Voice” features a narrowed coaching panel consisting of Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend. This season is dubbed the “Battle of Champions,” introducing new competitive elements to the long-running reality series.

Belle has previously described her musical genre as a blend of pop and alt-rock. Before her national debut, she was a frequent performer in the region, often seen playing alongside her family members.

With her successful audition, Belle now advances to the battle rounds, where she will compete against other members of Levine’s team for a chance to move toward the live performance shows. Residents of Rapid City and fans across South Dakota can follow her journey on NBC as the season continues on Monday nights.
