
SPEARFISH, S.D. – In a match-up of two 2-0 RMAC squads, the No. 19 Black Hills State University men’s basketball team got the best of UCCS on Thursday night as they defeated the Mountain Lions 97-92 in A2 Arena.
The Yellow Jackets, who secured their tenth consecutive win over the Mountain Lions in A2 Arena, knocked down a season-best 15 3-pointers in the victory as both Cam Lowe and Blake Volmer connected on four from deep. Lowe went on to record his fourth 20-point game of the season, pouring in a season-best 26 points.
Additionally, the Green & Gold once again assisted on more than 20 baskets, dishing out 23 assists on 34 made baskets as one of the nation’s most efficient offenses shot better than 50.0 percent for the seventh time this year, hitting 54.0 percent of their shots on the night. Black Hills State led by as many as 17 points late in the second half, however, they fended off a late 20-7 scoring run by UCCS as they went 5-of-6 from the free throw line in the final 35 seconds of the contest.

Emily Cooper scored a career-high 19 points with 12 of them coming in the fourth quarter as the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets stunned the UCCS Mountain Lions 61-56 in A2 Arena in a game that was tied at halftime.
The Yellow Jackets never trailed in the second half and were able to hold a strong offensive UCCS team to 37.9 percent shooting.
BHSU made 25 free throws tonight out of 31 attempts. It is only the second time since the 2021-22 season that they have made 25 free throws in a game.
