Black Hills Community Theatre starts the New Year with love and laughs in the frisky comedy for adults
Calendar Girls by Tim Firth. After spending time at the local hospital, Annie and her best friend Chris resolve to
raise money for a new settee for the waiting room. With the help of four fellow Women’s Institute members, they decide to be bold and pose nude for an “alternative calendar”. The news of the women’s charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales. This humorous, yet poignant, story is based on the 2003 movie of the same name.

Calendar Girls is directed by Hannah Bowman, who has previously directed One Man, Two Guvnors for BHCT
and has appeared onstage in several shows, too. Bowman says of the show, “I love Calendar Girls- this show is
heartfelt, fun and proves adventures in friendship are ageless”. The artistic leadership of the show also
features Assistant Director Anna Auchampach, who has served as this role for The Adventures of Pericles and
has choreographed multiple productions.

The cast of local actors is led by Paula Kennison and Shannon Truax as best friends Chris and Annie, who are
joined by fellow “Calendar Girls” Carmen Rosendahl, Connie Hubbard, Cierra Melum and Tina Samuelsen
Bauer. The rest of the cast includes Lynne Mazzone, Paul Wishard, Bart Pfankuch, Tyler Mathieson, Dillon
Burton, Rachel Lindsay, Mary Stein and Lucille Breksy. This production contains mild language and adult
content.

Black Hills Community Theatre (BHCT) produces five Mainstage shows, two youth productions, an annual
Holiday Fundraiser, a Play Reading Series, plus workshops, special events and summer theater camps. The
mission of BHCT is to collaborate with our community to entertain, educate, and foster growth in the arts with
a vision to serve as a creative and educational home that is inclusive, transformative, and inspirational for the
entire community.
