Badlands Sabres split Weekend With Bozeman Icedogs

The Badlands Sabres split games last weekend with the Bozeman Icedogs on the road.

The Sabres were victorious with a 3-2 win over the Bozeman Icedogs. 

Bozeman was the sole scorer in the first period. 

After Bozeman scored first in the second period, Dayton Niedert (assisted by Patrick Gosselin and Oliver Giles) scored with 38 seconds remaining. 

After a reset during intermission, the Sabres came with force in the third period. After a short 1:07 minutes into the period, Rhylan Olson (assisted by Dayton Niedert and Maddox Harn) found good zone placement and scored a one timer goal making it a tie game at 2-2. Shortly after, Dayton Niedert (assisted by Rhylan Olson and Maddox Harn) scored a short handed gaol with a breakaway shot. No scores were made for the remainder of the period resulting in a Sabres victory over the Icedogs, 3-2.

The two teams faced off for the second match of the weekend. The match ended in a 6-3 loss for the Badlands Sabres. 

In the 1st Period, Bozeman put the first two scored up on the board. With 32 seconds left in the period, Dayton Niedert (assisted by Oliver Giles) put the Sabres on the board ending the period with a 2-1 Bozeman lead. 

With 16:17 minutes left in the second period, Dayton Niedert scored his second goal of the night unassisted making g it a tie game at 2-2. Bozeman returned with 3 goals putting them back in the lead 5-2. With 3:33 minutes remaining, Matthew Cordis (assisted by Gaven Marx and Jackson Pinney) tipped the puck past the Bozeman goaltender reducing the gap to 5-3. 

The 3rd period went scoreless until the final :20 seconds when the Bozeman Icedogs scored on an empty net ending the game 6-3 in favor of the Icedogs.
