Badlands Sabres play in NA3HL Winter Showcase

During the NA3HL Winter Showcase in Blaine, MN, the Sabres were matched with the Alexandria Blizzard, the Wauau Cyclones, and the New Hampshire Jr Mountain Kings.

Sunday, December 14, 2025 – The first match-up against the Alexandria Blizzard was a competitive game with a no score for either team in the first and second periods. In the third period, the Sabres were the first to put the puck in the net. Shortly followed by the Blizzard putting the game into overtime. With neither team scoring in overtime, the shootout began. The game ended with the Blizzard victorious with a score of 1-2.

Monday, December 15, 2025 â€“ The second match-up was against the Wausau Cyclones. The game started off slow with the first score made by the Cyclones with 30 seconds left in the first period. The Sabres came out strong in the second period scoring twice, along with another score by the Cyclones, ending the period with a tie score. The game came down to the last few minutes of the game. The Cyclones scored putting them ahead by one. With 1:30 minutes left, the Sabres pulled the goaltender to gain the 6th man on the ice with the hopes of tying the score. The Cyclones saw the opportunity and shot the puck at the empty net winning the game with a score of 2-4.

Tuesday, December 16, 2025 â€“ The final match-up of the Winter Showcase was against the New Hampshire Jr Mountain Kings. The Sabres dominated the first period scoring 5 goals ending with a 5-0 lead. The Jr Mountain Kings were the first to be on the board in the second period but the Sabres didn’t let up and scored two more followed by the Jr Mountain Kings. The period ended with two more Sabres’ goals making score 9-2. The Sabres were the only goal in the third period ending the game with a score of 10-2 and a win for the Sabres.
