Texas judge orders Attorney General Ken Paxton’s divorce records unsealed amid heated Senate primary

A Texas judge has signed an order to unseal documents in the divorce of Texas Attorney General and U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton and his wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton. Friday’s order came after attorneys for Paxton and a coalition of media outlets said they came to an agreement for the documents to be made public. Angela Paxton filed for divorce this year citing “biblical grounds” and “recent discoveries.” She previously stood by him during an impeachment trial, which publicly exposed his extramarital affair. Ken Paxton’s 2023 impeachment trial ended in acquittal. Republicans Paxton and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt are attempting to unseat Sen. John Cornyn.
