Ole miss coach Lane Kiffin emotional, non-committal about his future, following Egg Bowl triumph

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin says he feels he like he has to make an announcement about his coaching future by Saturday and says doing so won’t be “as enjoyable as people think.” Kiffin, meeting with reporters after Mississippi’s 38-19 victory over Mississippi State on Friday, says he hasn’t made a decision. Kiffin says he’s leaning on mentors Pete Carroll and Nick Saban for advice in making his decision. Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter has asked Kiffin to decide by Saturday so the Rebels would know if they need to look for a new coach before it’s too late to attract a preferred candidate.

Chambliss accounts for 3 TDs and No. 4 Mississippi escapes against Washington State with a 24-21 win

Trinidad Chambliss threw for two touchdowns and ran for another score to lead No. 4 Mississippi over Washington State 24-21. Ole Miss trailed 14-10 late in the third period before Chambliss scored on a 17-yard touchdown scramble. Chambliss threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Cayden Lee to build a 24-14 lead with 6:51 remaining. Washington State led for a majority of the first three quarters. The Cougars scored late on a 19-yard touchdown pass from Zevi Eckhaus to Tony Freeman, bringing them a field goal away from tying the game. They had a final possession with just over a minute remaining, but were unable to score.
